I made a trip to the city earlier this week. There’d been reports of whales in the area so I thought I’d spend a bit of time on the deck. It was cold outside, minus something or other, but not all that bad. Luck was with me. As the boat neared the dock on the other side I saw it, a feeding humpback whale. The long black rolled across the surface and back under as the tail rose into the air to wave goodbye. I couldn’t get a decent shot with my cell phone, but this is what I saw.
I believe this pic was taken by a tourist from Ottawa some time ago. If you recognize it as your pic I’d be happy to give credit.
Anyway, it put me into a delightful frame of mind for the rest of the trip. I don’t often get such easy trips, no waits for boats and calm waters. Not in January. Should have bought a lottery ticket I guess.
Ah well, back to work.
