Hi Folks,

I’m all excited today and with good reason. I do have some farm news, lots of it, but for today I want to tell you about a re-release of Immortal Tigress. This has been in the works for months. This is one of my favorite books and now is available in paperback as well as e-book. Here’s the new cover and links.

For millions of years a rogue meteor hurtles through space towards Earth, glowing from the vast fields of radiation through which it has passed. A primitive human female gazes in wonder as the burning invader hurtles toward the ground, unaware of the great beast stalking her. All three meet in an instant.

Flash forward to the present, yes, she is still here, she has always been here, in the shadows, ready to strike from the darkness with gleaming fangs.

This one is me putting forth a completely different take on vampires, their origins, strengths, weaknesses, and struggles to survive and remain unseen by humanity.
Want a different look at an old legend, check this one out. I am currently working on the sequel. It’s about the Vampires meeting the werewolves. Here’s a small taste:

Cursing softly, and wishing for a fur coat as she trudged through the snow in human form, the vampire shivered. Ah to hell with it, she stripped off her clothes and buried them in the snow before changing into the saber-toothed tiger; the cat could track the maddened killer more easily, and she had a fur coat.
Okay, that’s all you get for today. Tee Hee

I’ll bring you up to speed on the farm news in a day or two. For now, have a stellar day overflowing with blessings and laughter.

Experiment Ended

It’s over; the great experiment is finished at last and it will not be repeated. At least, not by me. What the heck is she talking about, you ask. Why the Kindle Select exclusive for ninety days book promotion, of course.
I heard a lot of pro and con arguments about this one so I thought I would give it a go myself when I published Immortal Tigress. I am happy to report that Immortal Tigress is now back on Smashwords and soon will be available everywhere fine e-books are sold. Yes, it is still up on Amazon too.

So what was the result of this experiment? No difference at all. I gave Amazon the exclusive for ninety days, put the book up for the free five days, (three and later two) Promoted it as hard as I could, but saw no real improvement over the performance over any of the other books I have put up without the exclusive. Neither did I see an increase of sales on any of the other books that might be related. In the long run I don’t believe it was worth it to hold the book back from other sellers for ninety days. So, in my case, Kindle exclusive was an epic fail.

All right, now on to the late Sunday ROW80 check in or the early Wednesday check-in.
The goals.
1.      Blog twice each week.
I’m behind on this one. I need one more. Did way better last week. I’ve been focused on promoting Shelly’s Turn.
2.      Continue to read and comment on the blogs of my fellow writers
I did manage this one.
3.      Write at least 4K words per week.
Already made this one. Life is good.
4.      Read at least one book every two weeks.
Looking for something new right now.
Now, have any of you folks tried the Kindle exclusive? How did it work for you?

Oh, I need 40+ likes on my Amazon page, so if you can, would you do me the favor? Here’s the link: http://www.amazon.com/Prudence-MacLeod/e/B0079XOY8U

ROW80 Check-in #15

It’s check-in time again and I’m feeling a lot better about my progress.  This is turning out to be a productive week. What did I do? Let’s see:
One: Write something at least five times or more each week.
So far so good since Sunday.
Two: Write a minimum of 2500 on my WIP words each week.
Rolling here. I have over 3000 words on my new WIP, another 1000+ on a book I’m revising, and now I can do some catch up for what I missed last week. Awesome!
Three: Publish at least six new novels in 2012.
I did not publish a single book this week. I did, however, put the Immortal Tigress up FREE for three days on Amazon. Today is day two of that promo. Check it out here:
Four: Read and review six or more first novels by new authors. (I don’t give bad reviews, so don’t panic, I’m friendly, honest. J
I still owe Robert Taylor a review of A Breath of Hope. I will get on that this afternoon and, with luck, get it published on my blog tomorrow. Check out the book here:
Cover for 'A Breath of Hope'
Five: do more to be supportive of new and struggling writers.
I’m trying to help an aspiring author find sources of information he is unfamiliar with. It counts.
Six: Publish a small collection of erotic short stories. Hey, I’ve been around for over sixty years, and this one is on my bucket list. I will make it happen in 2012.
This has gotten pushed aside recently, but I hope to get back to it soon.
Ok, that’s about it for today folks. How is it going for you? Did you hit your targets? Let me know how it went for you.
