Happy days

Hi folks,

It has been a busy week here on this little island of stone. We made major progress in the studio expansion and are near closing off that project.
We also had a visit from a dear friend from Vermont who is a great photographer. She and Charis got into long discussion about photography and eventually our living room became a Photo studio. Here’s a few of the shots.

Me and my beloved Katherine:

Whatchoo talkin’ ’bout woman?
A while later Charis took over the camera and Dawn became one of the subjects.
Okay, so much for the fun stuff, now on to confessions and celebrations. ROW80 check-in time.

True confession time folks, I didn’t write a single word on my WIP this past week. I did jot down a bunch of plot notes and character ideas, but no actual writing progress.

On a much brighter note, Claimstake is still right on track for  release September 22 so keep your eye on this blog. I’ll let you know when it’s available. Here’s the cover to look for.
Claimstake is the fourth book in the Nova Series. IF you’ve never read it, sign up for my newsletter, this month’s issue will contain a coupon for a free copy of Novan Witch to get you started.

Well that’s it for me this time. Drop me a quick line and let me know how you’re doing. I love to hear from you. 🙂

Bless
Pru

Opinions Please

Hi folks, here we are again. On Friday I gave you a small teaser from my upcoming romance novel. Now I’m at the cover stage, so please take a look at the prototype cover and let me know what you think. Like it? Hate it? Don’t care? How could it improve? I’m open to any and all feedback.
Now for the ROW80 check-in and revised goals.
Goals:
1.      Write 10,000 words per week. (I wrote roughly 8700 words and finished the rough draft of my WIP.)
2.      Read 10,000 words per week. (Yep, managed this one.)
3.      Edit ten pages of a completed MS. (Got this one too.)
4.      Feature a new author every Friday. (Didn’t manage this one; posted a teaser for my new book instead.)
5.      Read and comment on 10 blogs per week. (Made it, but barely.)
So that’s the story, now here are the new goals and why. I find myself with three first drafts, two romances and one sci-fi.
1.      The goal in the next few weeks will be to get them tidied up and off to the editor.
2.      Read and comment on ten blogs or more.
Well, that’s where we are at the moment, folks. Let me know how you’re doing; I love to hear from you.

Covers

Now we’re coming down to the good stuff. It is time to choose the cover for the new book. The general opinion was that Hunter should be the title and I do agree, so Hunter it is. Now let take a look at two possible covers for Hunter.

Hunter #1

Hunter #2

Please don’t be shy folks, let me know what you think.  We need to choose the cover as we’re hoping to launch either Thursday or Friday, which one are you most likely to pick up to read, or should I try for something totally different?

Tell you what; everybody who leaves a comment will get a chance to win a free copy of one of my books, winner’s choice.

Thanks for all the help and feedback on this one.

Now for the ROW80 goals.
1.      Finish the first draft of my current project and get it off to my editor.  CM Crawford is a great editor and has very reasonable rates. Heck, she’ll even work for Amazon gift cards. The girl loves to barter. You can find her page here:
2.      Get the next project over 15K words
3.      If Ms. Crawford gets the first project back to me in time, finish the second draft during this round. If not then I will finish and hopefully publish it during the last round.
Success! Done, done, and done again. I will have to upgrade the goals for next week.
