If there is ever any doubt if it’s worth it to review, let this dispel it. I’ve been fighting writer’s block for months, but this shattered it. I’ve actually got three new stories started, two are only a few paragraphs, but one, a new SUVI story, is already about 11K words and growing.
If you’ve enjoyed an author’s work, review it. That means as much to them as a great story does to you. 🙂
Okay, no more time to talk, I’ve got work to do.
The will to survive is in us all, and no matter how bad it gets, deep down, there’s a spark inside us all that wants to fight back, to survive at any cost. And so it was for Terri Dawn.
However, even when you’ve escaped the darkness, a piece of it goes with you. To face that darkness and defy it, or fall under its spell, that’s the real battle. Terri Dawn didn’t know if she could defeat the darkness within her, or if she even wanted to. She’d have an eternity to find out.
“This was a great story that grabbed my attention from the first chapter. Great characters and touching on a subject that there really isn’t any middle ground on. It was good to see how the story changed as it progressed, getting deeper in the emotional and psychological sides. It was fast moving, keeping the story moving and the characters progressing, growing. I wasn’t ready for it to end and I’m looking forward to the next one. Sooo many options and twists it can take. Excellent reading. “
Now for more good stuff. The next installment of the Forgotten Worlds series (SUVI series) is now in the hands of the editors. Look for it to appear later this fall.
And now back to work.
Okay, I did promise to explain the thinking behind the cover of Pushback. The story of Pushback is an exploration of a survivor’s life experience. Even if you survive the abuse, the violence, the trauma, it never really goes away. Depression, insomnia, and so many more ghosts of the past will rise up without warning, and the survivor as well as those around them, have to deal with that.
This cover tries to reflect that feeling of being and not being, of being lost between your own past experience and the life you’re trying to create. So here she is, Terri Dawn, so dramatically portrayed by the ultra talented Perin Squires. Terri Dawn will fight many battles, but her toughest battle will always be with her past.
Yes, the title and author name are hard to read, that too is deliberate, a reflection of the subject matter within. The book may trigger some people, it did me many times as I wrote it, but I promise you, as always with my stories as with life itself, there is hope, there is always hope.
Okay, there it is, the reason the cover is the way it is, the way I wanted it for this one. Please don’t shoot the cover artist, she was just following orders. tee hee
So, back to work for me. What’s that? Yes, I’ve started work on the sequel. Stay tuned for it to appear later this year or early next.
Well, Pushback has been out for a few days now and I’m thrilled with the reception. Here are a couple of the early reviews. I promise you, these people are not my family or neighbors, and I’ve never met any of them in person. These reviews are real.

5.0 out of 5 starsread it in a single sitting.(about 5 hours)September 16, 2019Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseOk. I loved this book. loved the premise (renewed life/chance to rescue battered women), loved the world building, the romance, the angst. the action (I love to see bullies get beat, not sorry) I really liked the ending that, while wrapping up the plot well, still leaves room for another story along the line. Yes it is a lesbian romance/adventure; but its not explicit, there is some kissing and it explores polyamory, but the sex is all in the reader’s imagination. This book would be suitable for older teen readers. Overall it was a delightful read.
All right, that will give you an idea of what to expect. Also, a heartfelt thank you to those who took the time to review the book. Bless you one and all.
So, now I have to get back to work. Go ahead, give Pushback a try and let me know what you think.
Until next time
I’ve been promising you something new for months now, and here it is at long last. This one took a long time to write as it touched a few soft spots. Check it out here and see what you think.
Yes, there’s a lot of my life experience in this one, but what parts? I’ll never tell. tee hee hee
Okay, as I’ve said before as I was getting this one ready, this was a tough one and I truly hope you like it.
So, until next time,
Looking for that next great summer read? Try one of these. SUVI, alien survivor taken in by the last human starship. or Lady Blue, the tale of a young woman suddenly granted super powers by an ancient goddess. Who will she become, devil or angel?
Last post I gave you a hint at the current project I’m working on. There’s a bit more to it, as you might have guessed. The story revolves around a woman who dares to rise up and fight back, but there’s always more than one battle to fight. The battle within is always the hardest.
“Even when you crawl out of the darkness, a piece of it comes with you. Even when you defeat the darkness within, it too will rise up again, for that battle will never end. To survive that fight you not only need strength and courage, you need allies.”
We’re putting the final touches on the manuscript now. Trying not to rush this one, I want to get it right. I’ll keep you in the loop as we progress.
Well, I’m still pumped about those great reviews, but now I want to tell you about the latest book inthe Forgotten Worlds series. (the SUVI series) It’s titled SHIP, and here’s what it’s about.
When faced with a species determined to destroy every other form of life there is only one thing to do, survive, any way you can. So it becomes for the people of the Reacher, and to keep them alive, Suvi-jean Sorenson must release the tightly controlled warrior within her. Above all else, she is SUVI 5, the ultimate survivor.
Now, here’s where to find it: Amazon And here’s what to look for:
Don’t miss it, folks. The story just gets better and better.
Now back to work. On what? It’s a secret project, something completely new, a bit different, and … oh dear, you’ll have to wait and see. tee hee
Sapphic review: The first book in a series that you will get addicted to!
How does a long-forgotten Goddess and an abused/bullied teenager join forces to right the wrongdoings of the world? Well, you’ll need to read the book and I promise you that you will be hooked.
The journey that Penny takes from ‘Pee-Pee’ to ‘Lady Blue’ is quite a trip. There are terrible things humans will do to each other but together Lady Blue and Goddess Moragah set out to bring some justice back into the world in the way of the Warriors of old.
Prudence Macleod has a great way of writing, she draws you in. Her characters are well developed and the storyline leaves you wanting more, which in this case I’m happy to say Prudences satisfies with a series of books.
Follow the storyline by reading the full ‘Children of the Goddess‘ series :
