Who is Lady Blue?

Hi folks,

Last time I introduced you to some of Lady Hawk’s history.  People have been asking for some background on Lady Blue, so, here’s what Penny will let me tell.

She was born to a poor family, named Penny, as her father said the birth cost him his last cent.  That attitude continued until her fifth birthday when he didn’t come home from work.  Penny Preston never saw or heard from her father again.

After her father abandoned them, Penny’s mother began drinking heavily.  All her bitterness and resentment were delivered to Penny in the form of unrelenting emotional abuse.  School was no better, for she was bullied and mocked for her obvious poverty.  By the time Penny was fifteen she had contemplated suicide several times, came close twice.

When Penny was sixteen she fell down a steep embankment in the highlands of Scotland and there she inadvertently awaken something that had slept for long ages, and she was changed forever.  She became Lady Blue, an elusive vigilante who fights the bullies, defends the weak, and isn’t gentle about it.  You  can find the rest of her story here:

e-book

I didn’t go into a lot of this history when I wrote Lady Blue’s story, after all, it’s her story of life after the change came upon her.  Any and all of us who survived child abuse can tell you, every damn one of us dreamed of, and prayed for, that elusive supreme being to come and grant us the power, the power to make the pain stop, the bullying, and the emotional abuse, to give us the power to make ourselves safe.  Lady Blue’s story is one way that might look if it happened.

Okay folks, that’s a look at Lady Blue.  Go ahead, check out the rest of her story.

Now, on to other business.  I’m really hoping to get Race the Wind out this month.  Race the Wind will be the sixth book in the Children of the Wild series, more adventures of the Lady Hawk.

So, back to work for me.

Bright Blessings

The Adventure Continued

Hi folks,

Just as the adventure began with Lady Blue, it progressed to a search for justice here. In order to quell the flood in injustice and hold back the darkness, Moragah, goddess of wisdom and defender of the weak, created a new kind of priestess. Lady Justice. You can find her here:

Sometime between Tasha Stewart witnessing the murder of her parents and the attempt on her life, she made a deal with a goddess. In exchange for super powers Tasha would bring Justice to the city. A cold relentless Justice, no lawyers, no courts, and no mercy. Can she deliver on her promise and still remain who she is at her core or will she be absorbed into the cold unfeeling force that is Lady Justice?

And soon we will take you further with the coming of Lady Shadow.

Busy Days

Hi Folks,

I’ve got some great news today, so I’m going to reverse the usual order in which I share these things. First we go to the ROW80 check-in.

This week I did manage to reach my goal of 1500 words plus a bit more. I’ll hold to that target for the coming week. Also, this week saw the re-lease of Lady Blue. She’s had a new edit, new cover, and a new publisher. So, for your reading pleasure, in the Y/A genre, is Lady Blue!

Lady Blue is the story of a bullied teenager who is suddenly granted great powers. What will she do with her new found strength? What will she become, devil or angel?

Okay, now for the news from the farm. Yesterday began at 5:00 a.m. We emptied out the greenhouse, transplanting everything into the raised beds or pots. We also moved the compost to it’s new home and tidied up the flower beds out front. The final watering finished near sundown, about 8:00 p.m.

That was a long day in the hot sun. Too much sun, not enough water, headache, sunburn, and tired. Today is going to be a lot slower and shady.

So, that was the excitement for this week. I hope you are all having a wonderful fun filled day today.

Bless
